Fresh from the vine ... it's your time to shine! Nothing pairs better with Ketchup Creativity than dedicated Child Nutrition professionals.
Your role in bringing wholesome, nutritious and flavorful meals to students is an inspiration for Heinz. After all, food fuels learning and creativity!
Heinz is serving up a course that can increase your contribution to meeting the district's education goals, earn high marks for your school nutrition program and bring local and national recognition and rewards to your schools. What's more, it's easy and fun to participate in the Heinz Ketchup CreativityTM Contest. Now in its fourth year, Ketchup Creativity continues to grow in size and popularity, thanks to the tremendous response by thousands of schools.
Schools in the U.S. are invited to submit K-1 through 12 students' designs for the chance of having their artwork printed on nearly 200 million Heinz® Ketchup packets (combined) distributed in foodservice venues nationwide and win prizes for themselves and their schools. The school name and city also appear on the limited edition packets!
KetchupCreativity.com is fully stocked with contest entry materials, exciting lesson plans and interactive tools to inspire creativity in classrooms and lunchrooms! You'll also find resources to equip your team with useful information on Heinz products.
Here's how Ketchup Creativity works, what's new & what's in it for you and your schools
- For the first time, Heinz will select one grand prize winner out of the 12 winners and that grand prize winner's artwork will debut on 2.5 million retail Heinz® Ketchup bottles in addition to single-serve packets. The artist will receive a $5,700 cash prize for the creative milestone!
- Award ceremonies (press events) are held at the winning schools. In addition to awarding each school $1,000 for art supplies, Heinz will present the school foodservice department a voucher for $1,000 worth of Heinz Ketchup, new condiment containers and a poster of the winner's art.
- Pop Artist Burton Morris is back to pick the top three entries in each grade, offer fun tips and insight into his creative process, and visit the grand prize winner's school!
- America chooses the 12 winners from the 36 finalists in an online vote!
It's easy to get Ketchup Creative!
Heinz® has been trusted for 140 years to deliver the highest quality products. The Heinz Ketchup CreativityTM Contest is another way we're committed to helping you bring smiles to students' faces.
Here are a few ways you can get the creative juices flowing and make an impact in your schools:
- Distribute printed flyers to school principals or your Director of Curriculum for art teachers. Suggest they post these flyers in teachers' lounges, in-boxes, and in common areas for school administrators. Electronic flyers and information are also available for posting on intranet sites for administrators and teachers, or for forwarding in an e-mail along with the contest kit.
- Post announcements about your participation in Ketchup Creativity on your school nutrition home pages and include a link to www.KetchupCreativity.com.
- Inform parents about your participation by featuring the Creativity Contest in your newsletter. Show your commitment to quality programs that inspire learning and creativity in classrooms and lunchrooms!
- Meet with your Director of Communication. Provide the press materials to generate favorable publicity for the school district.
- Hang the posters in your cafeteria.
- Be part of a review panel that chooses which designs will be entered into the contest.
- Add a schoolyard garden or greenhouse activity to the project. Students learn about growing tomatoes and their many uses.
